Este sábado, 27 de mayo, subiremos al Ecce Homo y volveremos a Alcalá de Henarespara reponer fuerzas en una terracita!

Empezaremos dirigiéndonos hacia el Parque Natural de los Cerros de Alcalá de Henares, donde subiremos hacia el Ecce Homo, el más emblemático de sus cerros. Posteriormente bordearemos el parque natural, donde encontraremos cuevas como la de Los Gigantones o la Cueva de Malvecino, y llegaremos hasta las ruinas del castillo y la torre de Alcalá la Vieja. Posteriormente nos dirigiremos de nuevo a Alcalá de Henares, donde pasearemos por su zona antigua y su mítica universidad, para terminar con un terraceo, si tenemos suerte, al solito!

Alcalá de Henares es conocido por ser el lugar de nacimiento del icónico escritor Miguel de Cervantes, autor de “Don Quijote de la Mancha”, por su universidad, una de las más antiguas de Europa, fundada en el año 1499, y por su casco histórico, nombrado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.

La ruta que hagamos será de unos 19 kilómetros, con aproximadamente 500 metros de desnivel. El nivel de dificultad es medio. Los desniveles son bastante asequibles, pero se debe estar acostumbrado a caminar esa distancia.

Haremos paradas periódicas para hidratarnos y comer algo, y Hacía la mitad de la ruta pararemos a comer.

Es necesario llevar agua (mínimo 1,5 ltrs por persona), así como algo de fruta o frutos secos, y algo para comer (sandwiches, bocatas, tupers...), así como una mochila, un chubasquero, ropa cómoda y calzado adecuado para caminar por la montaña.

La hora de quedada serán las 10 am en el BAR LA ESTACIÓN, al lado de la estación de trenes.

El desplazamiento hasta el lugar se realizará por cuenta propia en transporte público o en coches particulares. Yo recomiendo ir en tren, ya que existe conexión muy cómoda con Madrid y con el abono subvencionado sale genial de precio. Si alguien va a ir en coche, puede avisar en los comentarios e intentaremos coordinarnos a la gente interesada en compartir coche y gastos de gasolina.

En cuanto al precio de la actividad, siguiendo con nuestra propuesta de que nadie se quede fuera de nuestros planes por motivos económicos, es un concepto Free Tour, por lo que al final de la actividad cada uno valorará el trabajo de coordinación y guía y dará lo que pueda y considere.

This Saturday, May 27th, we will hike up to Ecce Homo and then return to Alcalá de Henares to recharge on a terrace!

We will start heading towards the Natural Park of Cerros de Alcalá de Henares, where we will hike up to Ecce Homo, the most emblematic of its hills. Afterwards, we will explore the natural park, where we will find caves such as Los Gigantones or Cueva de Malvecino, and we will reach the ruins of the castle and the tower of Alcalá la Vieja. Then we will head back to Alcalá de Henares, where we will take a stroll through its old town and its legendary university, and we will finish with some terrace time, if we"re lucky, enjoying the sunshine!

Alcalá de Henares is known for being the birthplace of the iconic writer Miguel de Cervantes, author of "Don Quixote”, for its university, one of the oldest in Europe, founded in 1499, and for its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The route we will take is about 19 kilometers long, with approximately 500 meters of elevation gain. The difficulty level is moderate. The inclines are quite manageable, but it is important to be accustomed to walking that distance.

We will make periodic stops to hydrate and have a snack, and around halfway through the route, we will stop to have lunch.

It is necessary to bring water (at least 1.5 liters per person), as well as some fruits or nuts, something to eat (sandwiches, packed meals, etc.) a backpack, a raincoat, comfortable clothing, and suitable footwear for hiking in the mountains.

The meeting time will be 10 am at BAR LA ESTACIÓN, next to the train station.

Transportation to the location will be self-arranged. I recommend taking the train as there is a convenient connection with Madrid, and with the subsidized pass, it is a great price. If anyone is planning to go by car, they can let us know in the comments, and we will try to coordinate people interested in carpooling and sharing gasoline expenses.

Regarding the price of the activity, following our proposal that no one is left out of our plans due to economic reasons, it is a Free Tour concept. Therefore, at the end of the activity, everyone will assess the coordination and guiding work and give what they can and consider appropriate.
